Woodford Reserve Double Double oaked

Not sure I was going to like this one. It has the obvious oaky nose and truly a little bit of cherry on the palate. The first sip you really notice some tanic flavor, but after a few sips it is smooth and nice to drink. Recommend this as a change. But keep in mind, the first sip will catch you off guard with the tanic/oaky bite.

I picked this up when I was in KY at the gift shop there. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it given that I don't much care for Scotch and the "oakiness" that it has, but I was very pleased overall. I think it is a step-up from the regular Woodford. It pairs really well with pork or other salty BBQ-type foods. I give it a solid 83-85 score.
