Jim Beam to Release Second Distiller’s Masterpiece

Jim Beam Distiller’s Masterpiece Round 2 (Sherry Finished)

The original Distiller’s Masterpiece was an extra aged (AKA no age statement) bourbon finished in PX sherry casks. Information about the second release is limited at this point but it appears the second release will be identical to the first at 100 proof. I’d also expect a price tag that’s north of $200.

Edit: There were two of Distiller’s Masterpiece bottles released before the sherry cask. First was cognac finished and then port cask. To clarify, this is the 4th overall Distiller’s Masterpiece but the second Sherry cask.

I was able t pick one of the Beam Distiller’s Masterpiece up this week in Knoxville, TN. I paid $199 for it, honestly don’t know much about it and haven’t been able to find much about it other than “press release” articles…does anyone know any more information about it like, scarcity, collectibility, etc.? The retailer I bought it from said he would take this over Pappy anyday and I would probably never seen another one…any help is appreciated.

I just got 1 in St. LOUIS. I WAS TOLD IT IS ONLY 1 OF 7 IN ALL OF MISSOURI. I HAD NEVER SEEN ANY LIKE THIS BEFORE. I DO COLLECT BOURBON AND HAVE OVER 200 BOTTLES OF MOsTLy RARE stuff. Just made sense. Hard to swallow $200 for Jim Beam label but then again I paid the ridiculously overpriced amount of $160 for Sinatra Select Jack. What a joke that was. I miss the Gold 81 bottles. Those were worth their price. I got Jameis Winston ed on that Sinatra deal.

I have a chance to buy one of these today for $200… should I? seems like a lot of $ for this… I agree with Jeremy – not much info out there on this.

My sons bought me a bottle for Christmas this year, it was from here in Missouri, & I opened it up & pour us each a little. I thought it was awesome, I have never had Pappy before but it was better then the Van Winkle reserve that I had.
